ACT ~ Youth Achieving Change Together

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
-Gandhi

The WAAY (Way to Academic Achievement for Youth) Project

Uth Act members have submitted a grant proposal to the State Farm Youth Advisory Board to close the achievement gap and address access to higher education by providing quality service learning activities during after school hours. Through The WAAY Project, children will be engaged in creative, meaningful and fun hands-on learning that allows them to apply knowledge and skills and then reflect on their experience to gain insights about themselves, their interests, and what they are good at - including academic achievement in school.

We give out money for projects that make Hampton a better place to live. We support youth-led groups that create long-lasting social change.

We are Change Agents.
We identify problems and their causes in our community. We help other youth-adult partnerships become problem solvers.

"All people can create a change, especially youth."

We are Youth Mobilizers.
We motivate other youth to get active in their neighborhoods and schools. We inspire youth-led solutions to community problems.

"Why dream when you can make it happen?"

We are a Youth Network.
In partnership with other Hampton youth-led groups, we link young people to new opportunities where they can make a difference. Uth ACT is connected to seven other sites across America, working to create youth-empowered social action.

"Every one of us has a voice and holds the power to make it heard."
