y/o
An introduction to representational drawing created specifically for the attention span and coordination of this age group. This class offers age-appropriate projects designed to help children begin to recognize the five Elements of Shape and combine them to draw from their imaginations, observation, photographs, and illustrations. In addition, the Getting Ready class prepares young children for the classroom setting by providing a supportive environment in which to gain experience listening, observing, and practicing fine motor skills. |
Basic Drawing (1.5
hours) 8-12
The Basic Drawing class teaches the five Elements of Shape and introduces the MONART Method at an age-appropriate level. The class guides students in developing drawing skills while nurturing personal expression and creativity. Our studio provides a safe environment free of critique and competition in which young artists can feel comfortable taking chances in their work and exploring new ideas and media.
Drawing Fundamentals (1.5
hours) 8-12
This guided drawing class uses the same structure as Basic Drawing, but is geared for the more experienced student. Students are challenged to expand their knowledge through a variety of drawing projects. An emphasis is placed on students gaining confidence and learning to draw independently using a variety of media. Students will be introduced to basic skills in line, shape, proportion, perspective, human form and the ability to create volume through light logic, using 3 dimensional objects.
Basic Drawing for Teens and Adults (1.5
hours)
An introduction to representational drawing. Students will learn the Elements of Shape and how to use them in creating drawings from a variety of realistic, abstract, and expressionistic styles. Lessons will introduce students to inspirations from 2Dimensional graphic materials, 3Dimensional objects, the human form, perspective, and proportion.
Mixed Media for Teens and Adults (1.5
