| THE
MONART DRAWING STUDIO |
"Every
child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist
once they grow up.”
- Pablo Picasso

|
Developed
in 1979 by Mona Brooks, Monart teaches people how to perceive the
visual world in terms of five basic elements of shape. Once people
recognize these
elements, they learn how to combine them on a flat piece of paper—to
draw what they see. After grasping the core skills, students learn
to make their own choices, follow their own creativity, and create
their own individual style.
Monart students discover:
- Everyone
can draw.
- There’s
no right or wrong way to draw.
- You
can interpret what you see however you like.
- You
don’t have to like what you draw.
- You
can learn from everything you draw.
- You
can share resources instead of competing with fellow students.
