“Be
the Change” Outdoor Rally to Draw Hundreds of Teens
Hampton gathering will recognize youth leadership
and community service
Monday, November
17th from 3:30 to 5:30 Peninsula youth will gather at Honor Park
next to Hampton City Hall, to celebrate their positive leadership
and service efforts in the community. Hundreds of young people in
colorful “Uth Be the Change” t-shirts, carrying signs
and banners will be joined by Mayor Mamie Locke along with representatives
from the National Service Learning Partnership and a number of teen
presenters.
The rally will
feature speeches, musical and poetry performances celebrating the
positive power of youth action and calling on more young people
to get involved in their community. Teens can sign up for service
opportunities at the rally.
Youth are being
asked to bring a canned good donation for the Peninsula Food Bank.
Uth ACT, Alternatives, the Hampton Coalition for youth and In-Sync
Partnerships are sponsoring the rally.
