Regional Conference to Feature National Experts
in Youth Development

Day-long work sessions designed to increase skills of youth workers

HAMPTON - Staff and Directors from Hampton Roads youth-serving organizations will learn new youth development practices when distinguished youth development leaders from across the country share their insights at the Assets and Youth Development Conference April 29 at the St. Michael Hall and Conference Center in Newport News.

Day long sessions will cover how to work with young people in intervention settings such as probation, social work and case management. There will be a session on integrating developmental assets into congregational life and another that focuses on creating an attentive youth development organization.

The conference is hosted by the Youth Task Force of the Greater Virginia Peninsula Continuum of Care and is sponsored by the Emerging Leaders Team of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board , Keystone of Newport News, Alternatives, and the Hampton Newport News Community Services Board.
