MARIA LINTON-PERKINS

Maria is a Youth/Community Development Director. As a JTPA Program Director for the City of Hampton, she worked with youth and adults for over sixteen years. That experience enabled her to transition to the profession of Youth Development. Maria recognizes youth development as the foremost opportunity "to awaken the best in every child." Her work with safe schools and healthy neighborhood development includes groups such as the City's Neighborhood Task Force. Steering young people to reach their fullest potential, she embraces the belief that "we are not plagued by despair; we are dispensers of hope".
