KATHY JOHNSON

Kathy is the Executive Director of Alternatives. Her work at Alternatives is informed by prior positions as Assistant Director in charge of program design and implementation, and as Director of Prevention Services for the Mental Health Services Board in Danville, Virginia. Kathy has published on youth development and is a contributor to numerous prevention and intervention education curricula. A resident of Hampton, Kathy serves on the Board at Thomas Nelson Community College, and is a member of Hampton's Neighborhood Commission. She holds a Bachelor of Science-Child Development and Family Relations from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary-Wake Forest. Kathy is married and has three sons.
