BERNIE TENNYSON

Bernie is the Training Institute Director and project manager for the BEST Initiative. She is a veteran local, state, national, and international trainer in youth development principles and developmental assets, She also trains in Toward No Tobacco-Use (TNT), Life Skills Training (LST), Just Say No, and Al’s Pals. As an experiential trainer, her motto is: “Tell me...I forget. Show me...I remember. Involve me...I understand. A former classroom teacher, Bernie lives in Newport News and is involved in the Coalition for a SmokeFree Peninsula and the Boy Scouts of America. She is married and has two grown children.
