Mary's Bio
MARY PATTERSON
Mary Patterson earned her Ph.D. in Biology in 1990 and taught college biology for six years in Minneapolis, MN. While home raising her two sons, she created and led enrichment opportunities for children from elementary through high school. Prior to moving to Hampton, she volunteered for eight years with the Boy Scouts of America, coached middle school Future Problem Solvers of America teams to the international competition level, and taught 9th grade science. Her greatest challenge to date in the area of youth development: climbing Maine’s Saddleback Mountain with 10 boy scouts in sub-freezing weather. She facilitates Alternatives, Inc.’s middle- and high-school youth programs in leadership.
